Food Journal: Nobuya

I biked here all the way from North York after hearing about it on CBC Radio. I got there a few minutes before opening on a Friday evening and got to chat with the very friendly owner.

Having recently visited Japan, I had been disappointed with some of my regular ramen joints in Toronto, but Nobuya delivered!
Takoyaki had some of the best batter consistency, and while they were served fresh off the plate, I could still taste the exquisite flavours akin to the ones I tried in Osaka.
And the ramen had rich and fatty broth with plenty of toppings, with some of them very unique to Nobuya. I usually tend to stay away from Shoyu ramen, but this was hands down one of the best I had.
I highly recommend that you go right at the opening as it gets really busy and you get a chance to chat with the owner.
