Happy new year!
I have started playing the guitar again, only to experience excruciating pain in my fingers, but now that I am back into the swing of things, the pain has subsided for the most part. I can't quite say the same for my roommates, but so far I have not received any complaints.
Over the past week, I designed business cards for Rethink Sustainability Iniatiatives, using the little knowledge I have of Adobe Illustrator. On Friday, February 8, there was a massive snow storm which brought nearly a foot of snow to the GTA region. I attended a conference at Schulich School of Business, which unfortunately could not be rescheduled for logistical reasons. The trip which would normally take me an hour took nearly four hours. Although I didn't get to meet a lot of people and hand out my newly created business cards, I had a few meaningful conversations with a few people that I met there.
Today, I had an interview with a company in the recycling industry. Because waste is an issue that I grew up with as a child, I am very much interested in working at the company, which seems to have young and vibrant culture. Because I was one of the last few candidates to be interviewed, I am not sure what my chances are like, but it's one of the companies that I am most interested in working for.
I was told that I can expect to hear back by the end of the week. I can't say that I will have a job offer by then, but I know that I won't be feeling down because of all the support I have been getting from my friends, some of whom I have never met in person.
