Concluding August
August has come to an end. At the beginning of the month, my initial goal was to find a job by my birthday. When that did not work out, the date was arbitrarily moved to today. There is still no job in sight. I reassure myself that summer months are slow especially in getting new hires. Perhaps I am delusional, but I remain hopeful for September.
I recently read that a majority of hiring decision is made in September. For I now know what worked and what did not work, I need to reassess my approach to job search and adjust myself so I may be employed by the end of the month. In the coming month, there are two career fairs that I am interested in attending, a volunteer position that I need to follow up on, and an internship position I hope to get interviewed for. I am not sure if the stipend alone will be able to cover the cost of living, but its flexible time commitment will allow me to find a evening part-time job as well as a volunteer position that I am passionate about.
